Our greatest glory is not in never failing, but in rising up every time we fail. ~Ralph Waldo Emerson

Tired or just plain ornery?

We went out to eat last night for my brother in law's birthday. I remembered why when we go out as a family, we always go at like 5 pm-not 7. Oh. My. Goodness. Superboy and Pony Gal were literally running around the table THE WHOLE NIGHT. That's 2+ hours. Nonstop. Constant Motion. They ran with their dinners in their hands. I wanted to cry. If I didn't have to drive home, I would have gladly taken their offer for wine. This is also why I generally invite people over for dinner when they talk about going out somewhere. It was just too late for them to be out. They tend to go into hyperactive when they are tired. Superboy was up on the table at one point trying to swing from the light fixture. Luckily the staff thought it was funny. I did not. I was glad to go, and wish I could have enjoyed my time with my mom and siblings more, but as a mother I just couldn't relax watching my children terrorize, and being too tired to do much about it. It was a Lisa's Rules moment. Here goes:
Mom's Rule #7 When mom says not to climb on the table full of food and drink, do not dart straight for a swing on the light fixture.

I welcome hospitable, intelligent discussion. I do not welcome mean-spirited comments. Though they are "moderated" I post pretty much everything, with a very, very small exception-that being spam and those who aim to hurts others intentionally. I'd love hear what you have to say, otherwise!
