Our greatest glory is not in never failing, but in rising up every time we fail. ~Ralph Waldo Emerson

Poor Boy

Usually when I go out to do chores, I sit the kids down and let them watch a movie-the first tv they get to watch all day, in the late afternoon. Today was no different. For whatever reason, though, Pony Gal wasn't paying attention, and with the four wheeler running I can't hear anything, so Superboy headed outside, naked. I don't know how long he was standing out there, but we were both in tears when I found him. His little feet were so cold. Pony Gal is usually a little more diligent about making sure he stays inside, and I keep any eye on doors, but he escaped today. I ran him inside, and bundled him in two pairs of socks, one cotton, then wool ones I had knit him as toppers, and put his mittens on him, as well as flannel pajamas then nursed him and wrapped him in one of my quilts. That little boy is so much more work (work I love, though) than Pony Gal. My little Indiana Jones. It didn't look like he had frostbite or anything, and I know I was outside, at a max, 45 minutes, but his extremities were pretty red and cold when I brought him in. I am going to have to start carrying my keys with me and locking them inside until it is nice enough for them to run out. Not that they couldn't have today, they did play outside earlier in the day, but not naked and if you know anything about Superboy, that is the way to be (though he is wearing clothes more and more these days ;) ).

I welcome hospitable, intelligent discussion. I do not welcome mean-spirited comments. Though they are "moderated" I post pretty much everything, with a very, very small exception-that being spam and those who aim to hurts others intentionally. I'd love hear what you have to say, otherwise!
