Summer House Living Room Paint

The color is one I mixed up with free paint from the Hazardous Household Recycling Center in Bondurant. It turned out to be a lovely, very light orange, and I used a brick red for accents with stars and the word Rejoice. I decided that each room in the basement would have a one word accent, all appropriate for the room, but also have a deeper spiritual meaning, as well. I am excited to work on each room. And, now that I can easily put pictures up here, instead of needing to upload them several places, I can document it all! I had made a rug from some fun, funky, vintage fabric I had gotten from Sarah, but we all decided it just wasn't heavy enough. So, with the same fabric, plus some more, I am working on making a crocheted rug instead. It should be heavier. It will take some time, though, so it will be a bit before I can get it up. The brick red accents also match my forties vintage cracked ice table and chairs, which we had recovered in a brick red and cream stars fabric years ago. I was excited to finally have them fit in.
In the meantime, I have moved on to start the paint in the summer house kitchen, a bright, beautiful blue. More on that when I am finished.

  2. I love it, too. Just wait for the other rooms. Lots of thought going in. I have a lot more freedom in the basement. Andrew tends to like more earth tones, though I was able to get away with quite a bit in the winter home. The summer house, though, I was given pretty much free reign. No pink, but other than that I can do just about whatever I want short of a rainbow, though I haven't ruled something pretty bright out for the play room.

I welcome hospitable, intelligent discussion. I do not welcome mean-spirited comments. Though they are "moderated" I post pretty much everything, with a very, very small exception-that being spam and those who aim to hurts others intentionally. I'd love hear what you have to say, otherwise!
